Join us for AKE STEAM Night 2026 at August Knodt Elementary School in Stockton! This family-friendly evening event brings together elementary students and their families for hands-on STEM and STEAM activities designed to spark curiosity and excitement around science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
We’re seeking an LLNL volunteer to host a simple, engaging hands-on STEAM activity for attending students and families. Last year’s event welcomed approximately 100 families, making this a great opportunity to connect with the school community and inspire young learners.
Volunteers can choose from two options for their booth or activity:
Option 1: The LLNL Science Education Program (SEP) will provide all materials and instructions for a fun STEM slime activity — an easy, high-impact way to engage students.
Option 2: Volunteers may bring their own hands-on STEM/STEAM activity or demonstration. Simply share your idea with us — we’ll review it to ensure it fits the event and offer any support you need.
Your participation helps make this community STEAM night meaningful and memorable for students and families.
